Emergency Roof Repair
in Rockwall, Texas
Water coming in, a limb through the decking, or a section of roof gone after a storm? Call us. We will talk you through what to do right now, get out to you, tarp it, and dry it in so the damage stops at the roof instead of working its way into the house.

When The Roof Is Open, Time Is The Whole Problem
Once water is past the roof, it does not politely wait in one spot. It soaks the decking, runs along the framing, sits in the insulation, and shows up on your ceiling somewhere that has nothing to do with where it got in. Every hour it keeps coming, the repair gets bigger and it stops being a roofing job and starts being a drywall, insulation, and flooring job.
That is the entire point of an emergency call. We are not trying to rebuild your roof at 9pm. We are trying to stop the water so that tomorrow you are dealing with a roof repair and not a whole-house problem.
Bacon Roofing has been working Rockwall roofs since 1995, and we are local, which is the part that matters at night. The office is across the bridge in Rowlett. We are not routing your call to a dispatcher three states away and hoping somebody in the area picks it up.

Some Roof Problems Can Wait. These Cannot.
Plenty of roof problems are perfectly fine to handle on a normal schedule, and we will tell you when yours is one of them. These are the ones where waiting costs you real money, because the roof is open and the weather is not going to hold off out of courtesy.
- Water is actively coming in. A dripping ceiling, a spreading stain, or water running down a wall. The roof is open somewhere and every hour adds to the interior damage.
- A tree or limb hit the roof. Even if it looks like it only clipped the shingles, the impact can crack decking and break the seal on a wide area around it.
- Wind took shingles off. A bare patch of underlayment or decking is not weatherproof. It is a countdown until the next rain.
- A ceiling is sagging or bulging. That is water pooling above the drywall. Do not poke it and do not stand under it. Call.
- Storm damage with more weather on the way. If hail or wind just went through and there is rain in the forecast, getting it dried in beats waiting to see what happens.
- You can see daylight through the roof. From the attic or from inside. If light gets in, so does everything else.
What Happens When You Call Us
You are calling in the middle of a bad night. Here is exactly what happens, so there are no surprises on top of the ones you already have.
We Talk It Through
First thing on the phone is what you should be doing right now to limit the damage inside. That part costs nothing and it happens before anyone gets in a truck.
We Get There And Find The Source
Where the water shows up inside is almost never where it got in. We trace it back to the actual opening, because tarping the wrong spot does nothing.
Tarp And Dry It In
Temporary protection, fastened down properly so it survives the next round of wind. This stops the water. It is not the repair.
Document Everything
Dated photographs of the damage and the cause before we cover any of it up, and we pin down the date of loss while it is still fresh. You will want this later.
The Permanent Repair
Once the emergency is contained, we scope the real repair in daylight, put it in writing, and schedule it. Built properly, not caulked over.

A Tarp Is Not A Repair
This trips up a lot of homeowners, so it is worth being clear about. The emergency visit and the actual repair are two different jobs with two different purposes, and you almost always need both.
The emergency visit stops the water…
- Happens fast, often in the dark, and in whatever weather is currently going on.
- Finds the actual opening and covers it, fastened down so the next gust does not take the tarp with it.
- Buys you days or weeks, not months. A tarp is weatherproof, it is not a roof.
- Gets the damage photographed and the date of loss recorded before anything is covered up.
The permanent repair fixes the cause…
- Happens in daylight, on a scheduled day, with the right materials on the truck.
- Replaces the decking that got wet, because covering soft decking just moves the problem.
- Rebuilds the detail properly, in metal where it should be metal. Caulk over a bad detail is not a roofing system, it is just hope.
- Comes with a written estimate and a warranty behind the work.
Be wary of anyone who tarps your roof and then disappears, or who wants to caulk the whole thing and call it done. The tarp is the first half of the job. Ask who is coming back for the second half.
Do not wait until morning.
If water is coming in, the cheapest hour to deal with it is this one. Call and we will talk you through what to do right now.
We Navigate The Claim Process With You
Most emergency calls turn into a claim conversation within a day or two, which is exactly why we photograph everything before we cover it. Here is what we do, and just as importantly, what we do not do. We are roofers, not adjusters and not attorneys. We talk about the scope of work on your roof, never about your policy.
- Documented before it is covered. We photograph the damage and the cause before the tarp goes on, and we pin down the date of loss while it is still fresh.
- Make us your contractor of record. That means we are the point of contact with your adjuster instead of you sorting it out on your own, and we meet them on the roof.
- We talk scope of work, not policy. We bring up code and the manufacturer’s instructions to make the case for the correct repair, and we file a supplement when the scope leaves something out.
- Straight expectations. If there is not enough damage to stand behind a claim, we will tell you that.
What We Bring To The Adjuster Meeting
Documentation, not opinions.
Three Things To Do While You Wait For Us
None of this is the repair. It is just how you keep a bad night from getting more expensive in the twenty minutes before somebody gets there.
Photograph It First
Before you move anything or mop anything up, take pictures. The wet ceiling, the puddle, the damaged room. Five minutes now is worth a great deal later when somebody asks what the damage actually was.
Get Buckets Under It
Then move furniture, rugs, and anything electronic out of the way. If water is anywhere near light fixtures, ceiling fans, or outlets, shut the power to that area off at the breaker if you can do it safely.
Stay Off The Roof
Please. A wet roof in the dark, in wind, with damage you cannot see is how people get badly hurt. Whatever is up there will still be up there when we arrive with harnesses and daylight.
What The Emergency Visit Covers
After-Hours Response
Storms do not keep business hours. Call and we will tell you straight away what we can do and when.
Tarped And Dried In
Temporary protection fastened down properly, so it is still there after the next round of wind.
Documented Before It Is Covered
Dated photos of the damage and the cause, taken before the tarp goes on.
Local Matters Most At 9pm
The office is across the bridge in Rowlett and we have been working these roofs since 1995. When you call after a storm you are not reaching a call centre that will pass your address to whichever crew happens to be nearby. Thirty years in one market is a credential a new competitor cannot copy.
We serve homeowners within about an hour of Rockwall, including Rowlett, Heath, Wylie, McLendon-Chisholm, Royse City, Sunnyvale, Garland, Mesquite, Sachse, Forney, and Anna. If you are close and not sure whether we cover your address, call and ask. The answer is usually yes.
What Bacon Roofing Customers Say
Emergency Roof Repair FAQs
What actually counts as a roofing emergency?
Water actively coming in, a tree or limb on the roof, wind that took shingles off and left decking or underlayment exposed, a ceiling that is sagging or bulging, or storm damage with more rain in the forecast. If you are not sure, call and describe it. Plenty of calls end with us telling somebody it can wait until Monday, and that is a perfectly good outcome.
Do you come out after hours?
We offer after-hours emergency service. Call 972-772-1999 and we will tell you straight away what we can do and when we can be there, rather than leaving you wondering. If it can safely wait until morning we will say that too.
What will you actually do on the first visit?
Find where the water is really getting in, which is almost never where it is showing up inside, then cover it with temporary protection fastened down properly. Before any of that gets covered, we photograph the damage and the cause and record the date of loss. Then we scope the permanent repair for daylight.
Will a tarp fix my roof?
No, and anybody who tells you otherwise is not being straight with you. A tarp is weatherproof, it is not a roof. It buys days or weeks while the real repair gets scoped, scheduled, and done with the right materials. The emergency visit and the repair are two different jobs and you generally need both.
What should I do before you get there?
Photograph everything before you move or mop anything. Get buckets under the drips and move furniture, rugs and electronics clear. If water is near light fixtures, fans or outlets, shut the power to that area off at the breaker if you can do that safely. And stay off the roof. A wet roof in the dark is how people get badly hurt.
Should I call my insurance company or you first?
Call us first if water is coming in, because stopping the damage is time-sensitive and the claim is not. Once the roof is dried in, make us your contractor of record and we become the point of contact with your adjuster, meet them on the roof, and document the damage with dated photos. We discuss the scope of work and what code and the manufacturer’s instructions require. We are roofers, not adjusters or attorneys, so we do not advise on your policy.
My ceiling is bulging. What do I do?
Do not poke it and do not stand under it. That is water pooling above the drywall and it can come down all at once, heavy and without warning. Move everything out from under it, keep people and pets out of that room, and call us.
What areas do you serve?
Homeowners within about an hour of Rockwall, including Rowlett, Heath, Wylie, McLendon-Chisholm, Royse City, Sunnyvale, Garland, Mesquite, Sachse, Forney, and Anna.
If Water Is Coming In, Call. Do Not Fill This Out.
A phone call always gets a faster answer than a form, and in an emergency that difference matters. Use the form for anything that can wait until we open. We would rather hear from you at 9pm than see the damage in the morning.
